Being on the Clarkfork River on the 4th of July has been a Gatten family trdition for many years. It is the time we do some great whitewater rafting and have a good time being together. It is only a 2 hour drive from Coeur d"Alene which makes it very convenient for most everyone. We have been camping at many different spots but with 70 or more people this year we just stayed at the USDA campground at the 59 mile marker just passed Superior,MT.
Tom, Brooke and family were up from West Jordan, UT., Tim, Brett and his friends, Mikin, Tylers brother Jonathan, and Brynne were there with their families from the CDA area, Dusty and Angie from Seattle along with two other endo students, my brother Jim and family with extra single adults, my brother in law Scott from Spokane, his brother and family, his son, Jeff Davis family and friends. We did have quite the group. We kept 5 rafts going all the time. The water was high Thursday but still fun and as it got lower each day it became the river we all love. We missed many of our family that were unable to be there this year. Cassie and Andrew are still in St. Louis finishing a residency there, AJ was unable to come due to a bus accident he was involved in 6 weeks ago, and of course Spike is in Brazil. We miss u all. We did have Rick Gatten and his son Corbin from Layton Utah.
I spent most of my time in the truck transporting people and rafts too and from put in and take outs. I did have a blow out on the raft trailer tire though so I was not without excitement.
