Spike's Letter 6/25 "E aí gatinhas? Digga Please"

What up family, friends, in-laws, and out-laws? Hope your all making it! None of you all are dieing on me. I know for sure that mom and dad are alive because they actually write me and update me on what is going on in their lives unlike many of you freaking slake bates who don’t have anything important to do. I guess you all hate me. I understand. Don’t expect anything from me from now on. Okay=) nothing is coming your way.To answer moms question…no I do not get nose bleeds. It is not that hot here seriously. Like it is humid and warm, but nothing like when I got here. It is really mellow. I have great heath actually. No weird things and I am just gaining a little weight because of all the chocolate from the packages. It is good though. I gain then loose. It’s a cycle. I heard from manaus today that I received another package there this week to whoever sent one it is there and I will get it the 7th when I head there at transfers. I have to be going there. I do not know for sure, but I am hoping too. The streets and what not get old after 6 months. We get the new president in 5 days. I am excited for that. I wonder how things will change, or if they will stay the same. I don’t know how that goes. I heard that you guys saw pictures of the ground breaking in manaus. I heard that it was pretty sweet. I have a letter that the mission sends every week. It has some pictures too I will send. You wont be able to understand any of it but there are pictures. So I was thinking of some things that would be nice to have here, and I thought of a couple. First, send me my duck calls if you could. That would be awesome. I could practice then. I would be able to show people what’s up. Also, do you guys have any pictures of my baptism? I know that we took some, but I hope we have some of them. I want you to send me them if you got them so I can show them to people and it is a good technique when you are inviting others to be baptized cause they see how it was for you. So if you could do that I would appreciate it greatly. So I made seven months! Cool huh? Really I cannot believe that I have been out here that long. From one side of the coin it feels like I did not have a life before the mission, but then again I can remember everything about home and it feels like I was just there. The time is going by, I am learning a lot, and I am satisfied with were I am with the language and teaching and such. I know that I have tons to improve on, and I will change a bunch more, but I know that I have done my part thus far. Lots changed since I caught that early flight here. Nuts.

So this week I did a division with elder Povey. He is the Zone leader here. He is from Idaho. Really far south. Clifton. But he is the man. We had a lot of fun working together. We found some sweet people to teach and we worked hard. In the streets we just talked about our lives before the mission, high school, girls, and hunting. It was awesome. We can relate to so much together. Then we headed to the apartment and we made fat stacks of pancakes with the mix that you guys sent me. By the was you should send that in every package. Ha. We ate and loved it. It had been a long time since I had had them. The last time was with dad at Pond Peak when he put corn it them. I loved that too! Man I love and miss you dad! We had a hard time sleeping. Just telling stories and whatever. I felt like I was kind of at home.So I heard from Kate that Carolyn finished the iron man.! That is so exciting. She has been trying to do it for a couple years now that I know of. She had never been healthy, but it sounds like she made it this year though. I am so pumped for her. To even sign your name up is one heck of a accomplishment and commitment. Tell her congratulations. She can do it, but Tim did not even attempt. Ha ha Tim. An old lady is tougher than you. Sucks doesn’t it?

So dad was not able to get enough people to go with him to raft the locksau . that is a bunch of crap. I cannot believe he could not get anyone to head down there. I will go next time. I hope you can get some people to go with you to the big hole this weekend. I wonder how the fishing will be with the high water like you said. Who knows. Check it out. I would go just to shoot
ground squirrels. Ha. Jon loves that. That is awesome that the mounts are done too. You will have to take pictures of it and send them to me. Ya I need MORE PICTURES!! Send them all the time. But ya that was funny too that iver and noah finally slept in my room. That is cool. With my new big mule deer mount it might be a different story. That is big I know! Ha. Cute kids.
That is neat that he has been up there for a week or so with you all before the family heads there. I am so home sick for the 4th it is not even funny. I hope you guys have fun with out me! Oh ya…I think that I lost my other water bottle thing you sent me. Seriously have problems with that. Maybe send another. May find it. I think it might be at a members house but he has been traveling so I have not looked. Sucks. So we had planned as a district to go fishing today with a man in our ward, but it is pouring rain. Like serious lakes and rivers in the streets. Sucks.

I was pretty pumped. We ate at the guys house this week and at Piracatinga. The fish has like no bones and is super fatty. I loved it. We ate as much as we wanted. What is neat is how he catches them. He goes to this bridge that crosses the white river and he fishes off of it. Its high too. I sent you guys pictures when I was on it. Anyways he just has free line in his hand and he puts chicken on the lure. He bobs it out there against the current and catches them. Ha. Crazy huh? The fish has to be caught good, or the lure will rip out of its mouth when he is haling them up to the top of the bridge. Cool.

We have many families that we are teaching right now. They are progressing. We have many baptisms marked. For like the next month or so. Over 30 in all. We have 3 this week. The lord is blessing me because of my obedience and who knows what else. Sometimes I feel really unworthy. It is tuff being so restrained, but it is for a purpose. I am loving things. Working hard.
Teaching many lessons, and like dad says the language is like second nature now. It is truly a gift from god. I love sharing the true gospel to those who open up their hearts and ears, and are willing to hear it. It changes their lives. Many of them had just been waiting for it. That is why we have to share it with everyone. Everyone has to have the chance to accept it or reject. I feel blessed to have the noble calling of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is an honor. It is nuts to know that all of the things that are happening in my life are pre-ordained. The scriptures are awesome. They are full of answers. They hold the keys to eternal life. We just have to be willing to subject ourselves to the will of god and put him first. I know that as we do the reality of eternal families and exaltation will come to pass. God always fulfills his promises.

I love each of you more than you know. I really am blessed to have such a supportive family. I guess I was good in the pre-mortal life huh. Lucky me. But I pray for each of you always, and hope that these letters find you doing well. I know that the women had an exceptionally good week there in Las Vegas. That is good for them. Ha ha. Sounds like they did many fun
things, and bonded a lot. You guys should send me pictures if it is not to big of a hassle. Have a great week. Looking forward to hearing from each of you next week. I did not want to have to burn you. Ha. Loves forever yawl!
