Our missionary is better.

I guess most of you know that our missionary son Spike who is serving in Manaus, Brazil scared us a bit last week.  He reported having 12 days of diarrhea with blood.  Now that isn't a pretty picture, but, it gives me a chance to talk to you all about my testimony of the power of prayer.  After his e-mail I immediately began praying with great earnest (and haven't stopped).  And, after sharing with Steve and others I called the temple and put his name on the prayer roll.  I text the family and e-mailed close friends to join in our prayers for him.. Then, after being instructed by Steve, I called Sister Jamie, the mission presidents wife and the person in his mission I knew I could count on (as a mother) to help my son every way she could.  She had already called the mission medic and gotten medication for him so I knew she would be the one I could count on. Anyway,  she e-mailed me saturday as she had promised with the good news that he was feeling better and the medicine had helped stop the diarrhea.  We had been told by so many that was the same illness  that brought a missionary they knew home early and all the medical problems that many have lingering because of it.  However, at his setting apart President Wood had specifically blessed Spike with good health and I remembered that prayer.
Our Heavenly Father may have given Spike just a little reminder that He is in charge and we all need to be humble and prayerful for the blessings of Heaven.  I am so thankful for the knowledge I have that my prayers can be and are answered every day. And now we all new to remember our prayers of Thanksgiving.  I love you all.  Mom, Nana, friend, and sister in the gospel of Jesus Christ
