Hayden Idaho Trek

"I am a Pioneer, I can DO hard things"  We so loved the trek.  It has changed lives and helped us realize that we all have hard things in our lives that we can overcome.
The youth and adults lucky enough to go really learned this lesson........

You can see the "rocky ridge" hill...
and  the trail left by those who were ahead, just prior to the women's pull.

Alan Chatterton entertains his "Family".

Julie and Jeff Crandall at a fireside.

Scotty Lee loved the food!

Steve led the trekkers across the barren waste land and water crossing 20 miles!!
Nikell's "Family"at the top of the women's pull hill, where we camped.
Nikell our eldest grandaughter .  It was sooo great to have her along!

The beginning
We knew you would all be interested in "The Trek",  as it has totally consumed Steve and Jean this past 9 months or so, so here is a bit of it. We went to a site owned by the church that is described as "more Wyoming than Wyoming".  It is close to the Columbia river on the Washington and Oregon border.

Bryant Baird's fiddle music.            And                                            "Come Come Ye Saints"

I have never been on a trek before and would like to do it sometime. I have heard that our Stake President won't allow it but who knows. I just don't want to be dad's age if I do. Good job Mom and Dad!

Man, this looks like such an amazing trip. Every time I think about what the pioneers sacrificed to do what they did, it leaves me in awe. The song at the bottom, "Come, come ye Saints", brought me to tears. What an amazing experience. Wish we were there! By the way, your outfits look adorable!

Looks like a neat experience. Wish I could have done something like this...but I did love having Dad take Brynne and I on that high adventure in the Mallard Larkins...and I've been blessed to see a lot of church history too. That may be about as close as I get to this. Way to go Dad and Mom. Those youth are lucky to have you in their lives!
