another week.....

AJ had his surgery Friday!!!

We are so happy he was able to finally get the hip surgery he has needed since May when he was in a bus-auto accident.  His labrum was worse than the MRI showed too so we are so grateful  he is on the way to recovery.  A few weeks of physical therapy and he'll be running around again.  thanks to Dr. VanderWilde  who happens to be the doctor who repaired my mothers broken hip 71/2 years ago.

Canning means we eat this year

This is the time of year we clean out the freezer to make room for this year harvest. For our family it means canning the trim deer meat to be used during the winter. This means meat for tacos, lasagna, meat sandwiches, stew etc. We use it just like you would any shredded beef or beef chunks. It really is good an is one of my favorite ways to use deer as it does not have a wild flavor at all. Anyway we used Saturday to listen to general conference for our church and can the meat.
