Kate runs 1st grade all district cross country.
She takes 1st Place!!!! against 30 other 1st grade girls.
I asked her how she won. She said,"Well Nana, I just run as fast as I can until I am in front of everyone and then I can just jog". I asked her about the other little girl tryng to pass her and she said,"I have to run fast until she stops trying to pass me." Now you all know how to run cross country and win!
Jackson and Sally loved playing on the dirt fields with mom
Angie, Nikell and McKenzie watching Sophia play soccer.
It was a very cold day!
Sophia plays soccer
Aj and Nikell try to keep from freezing to death!
As we see the trees all changing from green to red, yellow, and gold, and the coats come out to keep us warm I feel so blessed to have a warm home and good food on the table and people who love me....And, I think of the many people who are so "unblessed". Then, I think it is that maybe I just haven't shared with them enough of what I have been blessed with. It is a thought.
I love the fall colors and I love the smell of burning garden waste and leaves. I love the putting to bed the shrubs and not having to mow the lawn all winter. I love the thought of seeing my grandkids in Halloween costumes, being able to give thanks at Thanksgiving for my many blessings, and the coming of winter.

Another fun night was with Aj and me going to his new job site... Greenbriar. He will start working there in about a week according to his doctor. He will serve and hopefully make some money to start paying his medical bills. He has a lot of them. He is ready now however, to move forward. We are excited.

AJ you look great! I hope you are feeling better. I love the Gatten blog. What a family!
Wow! Busy kids... lots of fun! Can't wait until we are back there to support the cousins. Kate, what a runner! Way to go! Sophia... you chose the best sport. :) Looks like it is cooling down there. It is cooler today here, but was in the low 80s a few days ago. The leaves are changing though, and I know this is one thing I am going to miss when we move up there! Congrats on the job Adge! Hope things are onward and upward for you. You look really good. Hope you feel good too.
